Worthington Business Park

Worthington Business Park is a 583 acre economically viable, mixed-use industrial site that supports and encourages environmentally sustainable business practice.  Businesses coming into the facility must adhere to environmental standards established by the Park in conjunction with Alberta Environment to ensure that industrial contamination – commonplace for industrial sites – is net zero – reduced, managed and maintained.

Worthington Business Park has unique characteristics that are a set above the normal standards in common industrial markets and all of which contribute to the self-sustainability of the site.  The Park is an integral part of the redevelopment of east Edmonton and provides green space for trails along the river bank and the opportunity to companies to be centrally located between the Heartland development and the Capital of Alberta.

BUSINESS PARK FEATURES

Worthington Business Park (WBP) is a 583-acre industrial site with several exclusive characteristics that are a set above the normal standards in common industrial markets, unique in Greater Edmonton’s extraordinary industrial market and all of which contribute to the Park’s self-sustainability and commitment to environmental responsiveness.

Unique Features

A well designed and inclusive on-site rail system serviced by both CN and CP Rail

Immediate access to planned transportation development of the Anthony Henday highway expansion

Immediate access to the transportation route to Prince Rupert – the gateway city for rail, marine, air and highway travel

Close proximity to several major crude oil and natural gas pipelines

Water diversion rights

On-site power generation

On-site water treatment facilities

Worthington Business Park (WBP) has 21 buildings onsite including a 44,475 Powerhouse sf, 43,475 sf Maintenance Building and a 36,027 sf Administration Building.

The WBP has the capability of producing power onsite via steam generation. This coupled with a tie into the EPCOR Power Grid and local power companies means that power consumption can be on-site, off-site or a combination depending on price considerations. This flexibility ensures competitive energy costs and a stable power source.

When you choose WBP for a new plant location, you also reduce expenditures on transportation logistics, distribution and inventory costs.

WBP will become one of the largest and most diversified industrial business parks in Alberta.
