Things seem to be leaner, but the shake down seems to be primarily affecting businesses with inefficient operations. In the long run, I believe we’re going to emerge as much more competitive business community. I can tell you this from firsthand experience in my own operations! The shift in the business environment has forced some introspection and analysis about how to do things better, and faster.
Personally, I can’t think of a single person I know who has lost a job due to the current economic conditions. Not that they aren’t out there, but I think a big picture mindset is starting to settle in with folks as they continue to head out the door to work every day, the sun still rises and sets, and they still have change in their pocket for Timmies!

The population is growing and when you walk around Edmonton you see a lot of Help Wanted signs. They might not be the best jobs but hey a job is a job right?

The province may have a billion dollar deficit but you speak to average people on the street and they don’t feel the recession.

Sorry, can’t help you there, I only stay on top of industrial stats and trust folks like http://www.EdmontonRealEstateBlog.com for all my residential numbers. Your best bet is to give them a call. They will need to know further information, as in, what particular neighborhood and what month to give a decent answer. Take care,

Balls to the wall . . . still to come. I prefer to think I’ve got a half glass of water! We’ll have to revisit the issue in a couple years over a drink and determine how much water was in the glass.
